Kate Gilbert Studio, LLC provides curatorial and consulting services for public art initiatives. Our goal is to help propel the public's appreciation of contemporary art by bringing art into the public realm.

In 2012 the Studio managed the Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy's public art strategy and planning process with consultants Renee Piechocki and Jennifer McGregor resulting in a 5 year Public Art Strategy. The plan continues to be used to bring innovative and contemporary art to Boston through free, temporary exhibitions on the Greenway.

In 2014 Kate Gilbert Studio assisted in the inaugural artLAB exhibition at the Lawn on D, with curatorial oversight and project management. It ran from August 15-October 31, 2014 and featured 12 projects by 23 artists in a temporary space dedicated to experimentation. Situated on D Street, the event space stands alone on a corridor poised to connect the Innovation District and South Boston. Fitting such a new space, the inaugural exhibition, "O Pioneers", was inspired by Willa Cather’s 1913 novel of the same name. Works were chosen that embrace the vision, perseverance, fortitude and creativity of change-makers and innovators. Download the 2014 self-guided tour brochure.

The Studio continues to curate WonderLAND, the 2015 D Street ArtLAB season with seven anchor projects that challenge our perceptions of the world, encourage reflection and prompt us to imagine the impossible. Other performative and interactive works to come throughout the exhibition run May–October, 2015. Download the 2015 ArtLAB map and guide or visit the ArtLAB for more information.
