Created at the Elsewhere Museum, forged documents from 1973, an autographed photo and a multi-purpose outfit were inserted back into the museum's collection suggesting a visit from a time-traveller had occurred during the years Silvia Gray ran the space as a thrift shop (1955-1997). Dress: Vintage clothing and thread; Documents: letter and news release printed on vintage paper; Photographs. Project video on Vimeo.
Know simply by her first name, Elliotte was born in 2047 in Greensboro, North Carolina. At the age of 64, after reaching enlightenment, she fell into a time-space continuum and plumbed the depths of fashion from the years 1923 to 1989 to choose elements that work for “every woman”. Elliotte’s first line, “The Future Begins Today”, was presented by Saks Fifth Avenue during the historic benefit party for Versailles in November 1973.
